Pumpkin Hood

12/11/2018

10 1/2 inches of snow and getting ready for the Treaty of Ghent event presented perfect excuses to make this hood for myself.  Based on an original in the Timely Tresses collection, you may find the Instructions for making this hood in the new projects issue of the Homefront Herald. With silk to stop the wind, brim stuffed with down, quilted silk curtain with wool batting.  and adjustable channels, this is the perfect period correct ski jacket for your head.

What would be the price for one of these bonnets and do you make them in different sizes to fit your head?

The great thing about these is that they are adjustable you don't have to make them in different sizes. Both of my extant pumpkin hoods have draw strings in each channel to adjust it to fit your head. This one is stuffed with down and not for sale. I ordered more materials to make wool stuffed hoods. I will let you know about price. Probably around $150.

Thanks for the mention, Dannielle. Your hood project is great, and we really appreciate your contribution.

The instructions are so clear, most folks should be able to make this for themselves.
