This pattern is a good basic one from which your own style of decoration from simple to ruffles galore

can be easily applied. While most of the construction is pretty straightforward, the hood has some geometric oddities which allow the hood to curve nicely. The Interior and Exterior hood pieces match along the exterior edges but have slightly different pattern piece shapes back view to help the hood drape nicely. It can also be made with a high collar instead of a hood, though the collar pattern is not included.

The pattern has been enlarged from the original by opening up the spread of the cape back to allow for larger frames. Follow the dotted lines if your mock up wrinkles or feels to tight around the shoulder. Center back is on straight grain. Also included are two larger grades for the cape, but the hood size front view remains the same.

FIT:

This pattern is a one size fits many as it is not meant to fit precisely but wrap around the body. There are two additional cape sizes for those who wish a fuller cape around the shoulder.

FABRIC:

The original fabric is a light weight silk which is used for the exterior

fabric and interior lining of the hood.

TRIMS:

The lace is a lovely lace on net that has been manipulated to create an alternating festoons. There is a 1 1/4" wide silk ribbon for the exterior tiers. There are also narrow silk ribbon for the interior casing and casing
