A
three piece bonnet, the Flora Francine first appeared in
the American fashion plates in 1855. The
Flora Francine initially created a tiny circle around
the wearer's face. As the decade progressed, the
brim grew creating a larger circle or oval around the
wearer's face. From the side, the bonnet appears spoon
shaped.
Flora Francine is
available with three different shapes for mid
1850's to early 1860's impressions. The pattern includes a 20 page
instruction booklet complete with detailed
illustrations.
